LOL ...let's just say the animals out number the people in the house and I think they may be organizing.
She's got a fiery wife....and not just since they got the fire pit....not that I'm fishing for an invite to the next fire or anything....I'll out and out tell ya! WHEN's THE NEXT FIRE?!?! ....and I haven't seen her as happy as she's been since she met Jess.

For all you "Foodies" out there, have I got the blog for you!

Organically Inclined is written by Chef TinaMarie, who shares her life as well as her love of food, healthy eating, and some amazing recipes. Quite a few recipes actually (Don't miss the recipe drop-down list in the gutter....plenty of gems in there).

I'm not sure which I enjoy more......her recipes, or the entries where she opens a window and allows us into HER world.

Let me open up and explain this quote with my handy dandy "Chef TinaMarie to English" dictionary. What she's saying is.........she believes in healthy eating/living, BUT (this is my favorite part) she ALSO believes you should never "deprive" yourself of the things you love.

Everything in moderation, which pleases this somewhat reformed "junk food, junkie" who likes to be thin and yet, still enjoy and evening of amazing fatty pork on the grill with friends every now and again.

So basically you'll find all KINDS of fun recipes whether your a health nut (that's right, I said it!).....or a comfort food lover.....anywho.....she's a great chef, a wonderful story teller, interesting, beautiful......and did I neglect to mention?......my lovely wife.

Queer Blogs - K8T Girl aka "LaciKatie's Blog"

Katie girl is one of my most favorite people/friends in real life.....fortunately for my readers (all 3 of you...LOL) she has a blog so that you can get to know her as well.
She was a soccer player from (I kid you not) TRANSYLVANIA. She is my Vampire friend, who has yet to give me eternal life missy!....LOL....I'm just sayin'
The Hungary she grew up in, involved waiting in line for bread and such for days and going without more often then not, yet her view of the world is large, beautiful and for the most part positive. She's way to hard on herself. I'm proud of her huge heart, in spite of the fact that she allows herself to be taken advantage of at times for it. Oh and TODAY marks her 20th year in America. CONGRATS!!!
Her blog, LaciKatie chronicles her life, experiences, thoughts and then some. When she is nervous, she is super silly, and yet her huge heart still shines through....it shines through in all she does and says actually.
I spent last night at her home eating some amazing pork on the grill with our "gang-o-friends". It was the most fun I've had in awhile....my stomach hurts from laughing, but I'll let Tina-cious share the incriminating pics and video on HER blog.

Teddy is twenty-something, and provides a view of the world (or at least New York City) through the eyes of a young queer boy, which is quite refreshing to this 4o year old.

How much more brave are queer kids today? I'd say quite a bit....they come out so much younger then most of us did.....and they face the cruel discrimination still so prevalent in the US these days so much earlier. I know all to well what it means to be disowned by family and friends, for what I am, queer.

Queer Blogs - The Wishful Writer

The Wishful Writer is......well......just fun and entertaining.....seems to me she's already gained "famous writer girl" status. Her profile gives a taste of her witt.

One day, I'll make enough as a writer to at least pay my electric bill. I'm certain of it and don't feel I'm aiming too high. Until that day comes, if you have any spare change you'd like to donate to my "famous writer girl fund" I'd love you more than my dad loves his painter jeans. That's huge love people. HUGE. Also appreciated are regular readers and comment leavers!

Each post leaves me smiling/entertained...and oddly reminds me a lot about my partner and I. I being the wise @ss of the couple....he he he

Here's a quote from one of her entries.......it's about her partner April's daily slaughtering of the English language....cracks me up because I lived in a home with "off the boat" Greek parents. The slaughtering of the English language is not foreign (pun intended) to me...in a Greek-lish/Johnny Dangerously sort of a way. For example a phrase like "son of a b!tch" would come out as "salababetch".....YES, said as one word....LOL....that was my dad getting cut off in traffic........and now your quote...

Ever met someone who could slaughter a saying, even the most COMMON of all
sayings, and have no idea they are doing it? I live with one. God love her.

I'm actually curious to know if this problem has ever been diagnosed or given a proper name. Like "justignoremebecauseidon'tknowwhatispeakof" syndrome. I'll look it up.

I'm prepared with examples, for those of you who have never met my beautiful girlfriend April. And thank goodness she's cute, because if she had to rely on her witty comebacks, well....let's just say, thank goodness she's cute.

Heather: "Um, what? Repeat that, slowly."
April : (mocking ME, repeating at a painfully delayed rate, as if I were deaf and a slow learner): "You - will - go - to - hell - in - a - ham - biscuit if you don't stop that!"
Heather: "WOMAN...It is HELL IN A HAND BASKET! How in God's name does 'ham biscuit' even make sense?! Hell in a HAM....? I swear....you really thought that was correct didn't you?"
April (sheepishly): "I told you my mom dropped me on my head...."

April: "It doesn't matter anyway. It's like one-half of six dozen of the other kind of egg."
Heather: "um, what?"
April: "Don't give me shit. You know what I mean."

April: "I don't even know my own strength! I'm just a tough and rumbly kind of girl!"

April: "Why are you always looking to bust me on these things? I swear. You just look for them. Like a needle in a hay stack! See! There. I KNOW I got that one right."
Heather: "Quick. Someone alert the media."
April: "Shut your lip."

Heather: "um, what?"
April: "Shit! GOOF Ball. I meant goof ball!"

....It's clear, she has an issue. But she's my golf ball and if we
have to go to hell in a ham biscuit, at least we'll be together. And fed.

I was laughing so hard as I tried to read this to my partner, I could hardly get through it.

Val-centric is written by a good friend of mine (yes, in the real world), Val. Her blog chronicals her life, love, family, friends, and the world around her. She is direct and has a quick sarcastic witt...2 things I really enjoy in my friends and the blogs I read.

I'm a gay Jewish woman writer-wanna-be. (Don't listen to her, she writes quite well.) I am 50 yrs (bet your glad i left this part in, huh?) young and have a 7 1/2 yr old daughter named Sophie. We share our life with my beautiful fiancee . Linda. (hi Linda!) She is a wonderful woman who, for some crazy reason, wants to share this journey called life with me! (We can't figure it out either, Val!) We've been together for 4 years. Val-isms is just a place where I can share my thoughts with friends and family and to try to be entertaining to both them and myself more times than not. It's hard to not take life too seriously... this is my outlet for 'taking a chill pill'.

Those of you who know me, know that I am soooooo not a religious person......spiritual at times, but not religious.....I believe we live many lives (and in my next life I sure hope I don't have to do this "working for a living" thing...LOL)....

No seriously, I do in fact believe we have past and future lives and I believe we learn something important that we carry with us into the next life, living each life a bit more enlightened then the last.......i believe our happiness is the direct result of giving true love and kindness, in Karma. It's that simple to me......does that make me a Buddhist? Nope.

I'm not a Christian either, but I find I have very many of the same beliefs as this blogs author shares with her readers (I'm soooo adding this blog to my Google Reader).....I can't stop reading her blog.....and while I do not agree with everything she writes, I've found that I agree on more then I thought i would.....Her interpretation of what it means to be a true Christian is....well....beautiful.

You have my respect.....not something I give freely, BTW. Even on the few things I did disagree with you on....well....you made me think, and I like that. We share a belief in that we do not have to agree to have an interesting and enlightening conversation from which we both gain something very important, a different perspective.

Queer Blogs - The Other Mother

Today's Featured Blog is The Other Mother. It's a peek into the every day life of 2 lesbian moms.

Storytelling is one of those primal experiences, and I think that by trying out both the telling and listening roles, children get an early introduction to literature that is powerful and memorable.

I mentioned Pearl's adventures in bookmaking last month, and my friend Doodaddy kindly asked for a peak at one of them. So I set up a photo album so that you can see a sample six-page tale. The writing is done by dictation, although Pearl did write her name and "The End."

When we shared this book with Pearl's cousin Maya, she (Maya) immediately wrote and illustrated one herself. It was really good too!

Parents are parents, love is love...and IT'S A BEAUTIFUL THING!

Queer Blogs - My Folk-called Life

There is just something adorable about this blogger. His calls himself FolkyBoy. He's a big burley "Bear" of a guy, with such a sweet heart (very visable in his posts and the way he expresses himself).


I'm a fan of people who tell it like it is and can see humor where others may not....GREAT another blog addiction to add to my reader!

Queer Blogs - Bisexuality and Beyond

Bisexuality and Beyond isn't a "diary" type blog as are most of the blogs that I read. I actually learned a few things about our community and history and more...VERY cool!


Although I have just discovered this blog and have only read 4 or 5 posts, I was.....well, I didn't stop at one post and I quite enjoyed the Sex and the City post.....the quote below is from that post.

Queer Blogs - Tina-cious

Tina-cious is my all time favorite lesbian blog. She and I share an evil sense of humor. Yes, it IS possible to be kind hearted AND have a eeeevil sense of humor......like when you see someone take a horrible fall, and you hope they aren't hurt, but at the same time are able to see the humor in it and laugh your @ss off.

While I read many blogs every few days or so (I like to have more then one post to read at a time), I read THIS blog EVERYDAY.....and when you don't post for awhile Missy, I Jones, like a crack addict......LOL

She has a quick wit and tells it like it is in a very entertaining way......The girl can tell the most mundane story and have you in stitches.....it's a gift I tell ya.

My confession here is that she is my best friend......we actually met ON the Internet back in the day when AOL was the only provider and charged by the hour and turned OFF between 2 and 4am......the 2 of us racked up many $300. + bills......jeeze!

See, the trick is that they can run their

Queer Blogs - Transgurl

In her blog, Transgurl Milla doesn't just chronicle her experiences correcting her sex and gender, she educates her readers about transgender people.

She speaks to others who have or are now going through the same process. She shares what every day life is like for her. She explains the medical options and aspects of her life. She describes in great detail some of the most horrific experiences she has had.

The most wonderful and important reason I like this blog is that she puts puts herself out there for all to see (very brave) and she educates not only the straight world, but the other branches of our queer community as well. We have too much prejudice in our own community...no one's experience even within each branch of our community. It's hard to hate someone you know very well....and if you read this blog from the begining, you WILL know Mila....the good, the bad, and the fabulous.

Here is an excerpt from her 1st post...

I'm Milla, a 31-year old transgendered woman. "Transgendered" is an
umbrella term that describes people whose sex, gender identity, and/or assigned
gender don't match, or don't conform to society's girl/boy binary. In my case, I
was born with both sets of parts, more or less. I'm intersexed.

I was operated on at birth, declared a boy, and raised that way. Well,
mostly. Today I'm living in Wisconsin as a woman with my partner, who is also
female. (I'll call her C from now on.) She's what is known in the transgender
community as a "GG", or "genetic girl."
